Vice President & Equipment Director

Terry Gauthier: Terry and his family have always had a passion for the water and the beauty of Northern Ontario.  Snorkeling and a chance encounter with a Dolphin member started the passion for SCUBA. In 2013 Terry and his wife (Shelley) became certified OWD. In 2014 they became certified as Advanced/Rescue.  Terry joined the Executive because he wants to help show others the beauty and adventure found under the water, right here in our own backyard. Terry is currently a Dive Master with ACUC.

Treasurer / Fundraising

Mark Evans: Diving since 2006 ACUC OWD. ACUC Advanced Rescue in 2008. ACUC Dive Master in 2010. Mark completed his NITROX level 1. Mark is an avid diver, diving locally, provincially and many site in the Caribbean.  He is always striving to expand his international diving experiences.

Secretary

Shelley Gauthier: Shelley and her family have a passion for the water and the beauty of Northern Ontario.  Snorkeling and a chance encounter with a Dolphin member started her passion for SCUBA. In 2013 Shelley and her husband (Terry) became certified OWD. In 2014 she became certified as Advanced/Rescue diver and has been instrumental in recording all diver data on certification checkout dives. 

Training Director & Website

Dan Gregoris, ACUC Instructor 686EA: Diving under the ACUC & PADI banners since 1976, Danny mentored under experienced local divers, taking any dive course he could. Started instructing in 1981 and was past president a few times. Still learning and back to instructing for the club Danny has recently added DAN Instructor Oxygen for Diving Injuries & Basic Life Support First Aid CPR & AED. Danny Instructs ACUC & DAN classes, works on developing diver programs for DAC & ACUC, and updates the club's First Aid equipment and training.

 

Membership Director

Ray Hammond: Ray became a certified scuba diver in 2016 through the club. He went on to become Advanced & Rescue Diver certified in 2018 and aspires to develop more diving experience. Ray is relatively new at diving, but his other experiences make him no stranger to working at a board level and will take on club membership duties.

 

Dive Co ordinator

Norm Lefebvre: Norm has been enjoying the sport of diving since 2007. He became a Master Diver with SSI and is currently a Dive Master with ACUC. Norm enjoys going out with the club as much as he can in the Summer months and enjoys the warm Caribbean waters in the winter.

Community Liason

Justin Vaillancourt: Justin is a relatively new and enthusiastic diver who completed his Advanced and Rescue Diver this past season with the club. Justin brings a younger perspective with a focus on community involvement. This new position was born from his vision for the club and and how we interact and get involved in regional water stewardship issues. .

Insignia & Equipment Director

Pete Coderre: Pete initially did his Open water with SSI in June 2002.  In 2013 he completed his Advanced & Rescue Diver, Dry Suit and  Equipment  with SSI.  In 2015 he completed his Advanced & Rescue Diver and Drysuit Diver with ACUC; he also got NITROX certified. In 2016 he achieved his ACUC Dive Master and Deep Diver certification. Hungry for more, Pete got certified in Sidemount with both ACUC & PSAI.  

Dolphin Sound Editor & Digital Archive

Robert Rehill: Rob has been bitten by the diving bug and reaps the benefits this clubs provides divers. A relatively new diver who logs in many dives and adds to his knowledge via Advanced, Rescue and Dive Master training. Rob's enthusiasm is putting him on track for becoming an instructor in the near future. His favourite dives are the ones he hasn't done yet.

Director Without Portfolio

Patricia Striewe: Started to dabble in diving in 1992 with resort dive intros until 2008 when Patricia commited to a PADI Open Water Course. Today Pat keeps up with the standards of a Dive Master which she obtained through PADI in 2009. Coming to us from Southern Ontario with plenty of wreck and drift diving in the Great Lakes and about she looks forward to the diving in Northern Ontario. Her favourite warm water dives are in Curacao while her favourite cold water dives have been at Moose Mountain Quarry.
